A Monday in flower...

For a good start to the week

The first rose

with a captivating fragrance,

deep dark red

and depending on the light,

sometimes almost 'black'

with petals like velvet!

***

Olearia macrodonta ??? not sure, forgotten the name.  Does anybody know?

*

'something wild'  -  I dearly love!

*

cascades of Clematis Montana

building archways

growing into the hazelnut tree which contrast beautifully with the dark brown leaves

*

Iris 'Matinata' (bearded)

or is it the bearded 'Krasnia' ?  Don't remember...

*

*

wild

found this single blossom on a small tree growing wild...no idea - but lovely

*

*

Love the clump of simple white tulip's (the only one we have left!)

changing color delicately.

*

*

And all the Daisies - providing a beautiful flowering carpet in our garden

First bud of my German "Bauern-Pfingstrose"  (farmers paeony)

Each day brings now something new...

What a wonderful time of the year!

  3. Hi Karin. Love the Clematis Montana! Up to 30 ft crawl! Just planted 3 behind the Italian Cypresses on my fence line...can't wait 'till it obliterates the fence! Blooms remind me of apple blossoms. You little daisy looks like my Santa Barbara daisy...another voracious grower! Thanks for the view...wonderful! XO Trish

  4. What beautiful flowers. That clematis resembles one I have, just beginning to bloom. The rose - such a gorgeous deep color, full of richness.

    Have a wonderful day.

  8. Wow Karin your garden is really blooming and it's gorgeous! I love your rose, one of my favorite flowers. Funny but that wild yellow flower you love so much we kill off in my area, it's a weed and kills all the other plants. I'm so jealous you have so much in bloom right now but my daffodils are about to open any day.

  9. Hi Karin!

The unknown white bloom and the other unknown white flowers- they look like viburnum to me, but I'll ask my hubbie- he'll know right away.

Lovely! Our tulips have just begun their show...

  10. Hello Karin!
I found your blog yesterday and I was enchanted!
Then I went to see the images of your garden last spring and I can say that the first known white flower with golden leaves is definitely a Spirea 'Goldflame', while the second should be a quality of viburnum (there are many!) .
The little wild in the middle is rather a spontaneous Ajuga meadows.
it was fascinating to shoot with you for the flower garden!
    Hugs!
