Spring greetings

Beginning of Spring

'meteorological'
on February 29 / 1th of March 2013

Ah, spring!
This season brings increasing daylight, warming temperatures,
and the rebirth of flora and fauna.

The sun does arise,
And make happy the skies.
The merry bells ring
To welcome the spring.
The skylark and thrush,
The birds of the bush,
Sing louder around,
To the bells' cheerful sound......

William Blake's "The Echoing Green,"

It's not me - but it could be.....
....if we would have lovely snow bells in our garden,
malheuresement - they don't like the soil at our place.

Best wishes to all for a wonderful flowering
first Spring weekend!

  1. Those are wonderful photos. The frittillaria, especially the series in the bud vases, are delightful.
What you call snow bells we call snowdrops, and they are the very first signs of spring, even appearing before the crocuses.
By any name we have NO flowers at all, or if we do have some bulbs beginning to sprout, they are hiding under the latest blanket of snow. And cold? Shiver-worthy cold. It is the third day of spring, but unless you know that, you'd never guess. Thank you for the gift of the sights and (virtual) scents of the springtime, Karin.

  2. I'd seen a lot of signs of spring here in our place. Our landscape garden is now slowly blooming. Trees and flowers our so beautiful.
