La Pouyette - December 2009
that it kisses them so gently?
And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt;
and perhaps it says
"Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

La Pouyette - February 2012
“Snowflakes swirl down gently in the deep blue haze beyond the window...
...The outside world is a dream.
Inside, the fireplace is brightly lit....
and the Yule log crackles with orange and crimson sparks.
...There’s a steaming mug in your hands, warming your fingers.
There’s a friend seated across from you in the cozy chair,
warming your heart.
There is mystery unfolding.”

Stay cozy and warm and - keep warm!
Liebe Karin,
ReplyDeleteSo ist der Winter ein Gedicht.
Ich genieß den Winter momentan von der Couch aus, weil mich ein grippaler Infekt schwer im Griff hat!
Amicalement!
Franka
Dear Karin -
ReplyDeleteThanks for this beautiful winter wonderland tour! From your own garden to the chateaus....fabulous photos. We finally have snow here in Washington, DC. Not much, but enough to enjoy.
Warm greetings,
Loi
Danke meine liebe Franka!
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly...I like to see the winter like/or as a poem!
My Grandmother's philosophy about flue - "grippaler Infect": 3 days to come - 3 days to stay and 3 days to go.... Well, in the "old" days! Now, I guess, we have to count 7 days.

Wonderful winter!!!!!

ooooooh beautiful winter photos ! but now I need a warm drink to warm me back up ! my cats are not impressed with the cold weather and hardly venture out at all ..they lay around dreaming of summer ! have a nice weekend ...Gail x
ReplyDeleteThis post is so beautiful, and the photos so exquisite, it makes me heart ache somehow.
ReplyDeleteIf anything could make me see the splendors of winter, it is all this. Especially the chateaux in the snow! But all of it, really. La Pouyette is so lovely --
And since a fire is the one thing missing from our current house, what we left behind when we moved, it is especially delightful and soul-warming to have it flickering brightly as I watch.
