First Tree Peony - coming into blossom!

I know - I know....the promised  Linen post.....!
While working on it..."spinning and weaving"...looking through the windows...thinking what to write next...
and....couldn't hardly trust my eyes.....just over night....

...first blossoms on one of the  Tree Peonies !!!
What a good 'girl', so brave....against wind and weather!
I'm really  exited!

So, I couldn't resist to take some shots as soon as the rain had stopped for a few minutes,
the heavy cold wind calmed down a bit,
and a few rays of sun found their way through the gray sky and grim clouds.....

At the same time I made a quick inspection saying hello to "everyone"...
...talking to nature...to my shrubs and plants....

 ****

Clematis Montana ....

....growing in its natural way into the hazelnut tree...

.....in and out of/over shrubs...

just so reliable....despite the worst case weather conditions.

***

Lovely fresh green leafs of lavender and poppies,
an interesting contrast to a few tulips which are, depending on the light, almost black.

****

And... my "Chinese Beauty"...

...is simply waiting patiently for more sunshine!

  2. Fantastic pictures. There's just something about water beading on a flower that makes it that much more special.

  7. Karin, the tree peonies promise to be breathtaking, I think!! We are so far behind you, however much needed rain is expected all week, so we have the same Spring conditions. I hope to see some colour soon, we are at the leaf and bud stage still! Will be posting the garden soon. N.xo. Also LOVE the linen!

  12. Ah, your spring photos are so lovely. It is amazing what a little sunshine combined with April showers will produce. Your peony is lovely and just waiting to burst into full bloom. I am looking forward to Linens part II. The naturals and the dyed colors are so inviting and I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Have to go through my garden files to see if I can find the original label, planted this tree peony about 12 years ago. Should I find out the name I'll publish it.

Thanks a lot for your visit and comment. k
