See the land, her Easter keeping,
Rises as her Maker rose.
Seeds, so long in darkness sleeping,
Burst at last from winter snows.

 Earth with heaven above rejoices;
Fields and gardens hail the spring;
Shaughs and woodlands ring with voices,
While the wild birds build and sing.

You, to whom your Maker granted
Powers to those sweet birds unknown,
Use the craft by God implanted;
Use the reason not your own.
Here, while heaven and earth rejoices,
Each his Easter tribute bring-
Work of fingers, chant of voices,
Like the birds who build and sing.

FROHE  OSTERN!

HAPPY  EASTER !

JOYEUSES  PAQUES !

The air is like a butterfly
With frail blue wings.
The happy earth looks at the sky
And sings.

Oskar's new French blog-buddy

...Filou

Filou lives - very comfortable! - in the Limousin,
(not far from us, about one and a half hour drive)
in a French Antiquaire's and passionate collector's house,
here

being elegantly surrounded by...

...old silk and textiles,  here
 and  here

 ...by collections of antique books...

 Livres anciens

 ...old scripts and documents...

 here

*
Yes....Filou has certainly a - rather luxurious - happy life...
amidst of...

...plumes...

...embroidery...

and...

...historical costumes
here

Hmmh...

....whereas Oskar prefers more the rural "rough side"...
 living amongst old country pieces...
checking-out here my inventories...??... ha-ha...

...being surrounded by old linen and hemp...

 ...he is most happy....

...having a little snooze
on top of old German grain sacks...

 oh well....that's heaven!

And while he's probably dreaming about his new blogger friend Filou
;-)

we've received Violettes from  his mistress Marie Claude...

Spring greetings from her wonderful French garden

Bon week-end à tout le monde...

...purr - purr !

And to all our Irish friends...

 Happy St. Patrick's Day!

"Spring development...."

Day one...

....first blossoms on our
"we don't know what kind of tree"
It is the earliest flowering one of all our fruit trees
with late ripening fruits like large cherries,
providing a feast for the birds in June/July!

*
Day two....

...literally over night !

*

Under normal weather condition
- normal for our region the Périgord -
first buds and blossoms appear in early to mid February!
But since a few years and harder winters
flowering starts later and later...and later...
Nothing seems to be "normal" any longer...

*
Oh, 'those days' in February with clear blue skies
and warm temperatures...

...when Oskar was just about one year old, 6 years ago,
and loved to climb up into that tree...

*
*

Bon Weekend !

*

Thanks to all my dear blogger friends for your kind and lovely comments
to my previous post "the red-truck-dream" and all the others!
Now - I'm back to earth!

Something I always wanted to do.....

This month's topic for our group
 "By Invitation Only":

Being or doing something unusual, fantastic, eccentric or crazy...
or - something we always wanted to be or to do.

*
In my earlier days I had in mind and dreamed about...

...driving a big red truck on the famous Route 66 in the US....

...being the "Queen of the road"....

..."riding" along, listening to country music -

and old Western cowboy ballads....

*
"High on a mountain in western Montana
A silhouette moves 'cross a cinnamon sky
Riding alone on a horse he called Music
With a song on his lips, and a tear in his eye

He dreams of a time, and a lady that loved him
And how he would sing her sweet lullabies
But we don't ever ask him
And he never talks about her
Guess it is better to just let it slide

But sang "ooh" to the ladies
And ooh, he made some sigh
Now he rides away on a horse he called Music
With a pain in his heart and a tear in his eye

He rode the Music from Boston to Bozeman
For not too much money, but way to much ride
But those were the days when a horse he called Music
Could jump through the moon and sail across the sky

...Now all that's left is a time-old worn cowboy
With nothin' more than the sweet by-and-by
And trailing behind, is a horse with no rider
A horse he calls memories that she used to ride

And he sang "ooh" to the ladies
And ooh, he damn near made some fall right down and die
Now he rides away on a horse he called Music
With a pain in his heart and a tear in his eye

High on a mountain in western Montana
Two crosses cut, through a cinnamon sky
Marking the place where a horse he called Music
Lays with a cowboy in the sweet by-and-by..."

In my today's fantasy I'm "on the road",

...and at an old truck stop...

 ...somewhere in Oklahoma...

I'll meet

 Kris Kristofferson

*

Willi Nelson

and

Merle Haggard.....

*
*

These guys are already waiting for me...

to play the guitars and to sing -
only for me!

Yeah! that would be great !

*
*

Well,

the big red truck was just a dream.

*

I ended up with "something en miniature" - a 3,5 ton red VW Van,
in which I drove over the years for almost 420 thousand KM,
transporting my antiques back- and forwards from country to country.
Sitting high up, overlooking the roads, listening to my musics,
felt a bit being "Queen of the road"...and still do...

while...

...Route 66 with its "kicks" is still waiting for me....

test post

this is just a test post

it looks like somebody is "hacking" into my blog

happy spring.....

Spring greetings

Beginning of Spring

'meteorological'
on February 29 / 1th of March 2013

Ah, spring!
This season brings increasing daylight, warming temperatures,
and the rebirth of flora and fauna.

The sun does arise,
And make happy the skies.
The merry bells ring
To welcome the spring.
The skylark and thrush,
The birds of the bush,
Sing louder around,
To the bells' cheerful sound......

 from
William Blake's "The Echoing Green,"

*

It's not me - but it could be.....
....if we would have lovely snow bells in our garden,
malheuresement - they don't like the soil at our place.

Best wishes to all for a wonderful flowering
first Spring weekend!
