"The new year is looking kindly at me,
and I leave the old one with its sunshine and clouds
quietly behind me"
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
And my resolutions for La Pouyette in 2012 ???
None!
"I made no resolutions for the New Year.
The habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanctioning
and molding my life,
is too much of a daily event for me"
:) :) :)
I'll just try to make the best out of this year, keeping our simple life style,
starting each day with a laugh or two....
:) :) :)
Now....
...Oskar sends, from his prison cell,
a big New-Year-Purr
to all four-legged and two-legged blogger friends!
....purr-purr-purr....
He still has to live in 'prison' for another ????? weeks,
and - although his complicated-broken leg is improving
and the cell has :) WC, dining area and a comfortable living/bedroom/space :) -
he is rather "muffig", not very amused!!!
But he's trying very hard to make the best out of it. "Please, please...
...please, let me out Mummy,
would love to run around, making decisions...
...whether to snuggle up in a nice armchair...
...or...
...having my daydreams on a stool or...
...just sitting on a stack of old linen, watching what you bumble about!"

Hope that you all had a very good start to 2012!

I'm with you and Anais Nin too! And poor dear Oskar ... but at least his studio apartment comes complete with lovely linens to lie on and an en suite bathroom - there are worse prisons, I think. I continue to send good thoughts and wishes for his recovery and dearly hope that in the spring we will see pics of him climbing trees. All best wishes to you and him xo
ReplyDeleteDear Karin, Happy New Year! I wish you happiness and health of your family!

No promises I can't keep. Lovely thoughts and photos. Your Oskar looks like my Katy in Holland. This makes me miss her. Happy New Year. xo Jenny
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Oskar is mending. Clever "prison"- at least he can see everything. Good Mummy you are.
ReplyDeleteA very Happy New Year Karin.
ReplyDeletePoor Oskar one feels bad not being able to explain to him why he is in jail.
Oskar is so handsome and glad to hear he's on the mend. Funny you call his little crate prison that's what I called Dylan's crate when he was a puppy.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Mrs. B to you and Mr.B I hope it's everything you dream.
Debra
Dear Karin, I feel so bad for Oskar. I know that he is lucky to have you as his caretaker. Cats, unlike dogs, really suffer when they can't go roaming around. Hope his wounds heal very soon and he can go back to his happy and carefree life. Same goes for his owners. Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Gina
ReplyDeleteOh Karin - you are too much! Just a perfect blog! I laughed out loud when I saw Oskar's Prison Cell....padded with antique stenciled grain sacks....only you!!! Let me know when you need to get rid of them! :) I am glad he is healing nicely! Blessings for the most wonderfully happy and fulfilling year!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Martha
Your kitty is adorable! Happy Bew Year!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Karin! Like you, I never make resolutions...it's too much pressure!
ReplyDeleteOskar is beautiful and it sounds like he is on the mend. He will be out of his crate soon and able to enjoy the lovely spring weather. I'm sure his injury was as hard on you as it was on him. It is so sad when we see our furry loves in pain. He will be well very soon
Karin, I wish you and your family a very wonderful New Year. XO
Sweet Karin, I am sorry that this is so late, but I have been traveling. It is great to see that Oskar is on the mend and getting back to his "pussycatiness."
ReplyDeleteI have a darling travel-kitty made by brattcat (blogger) and I named him Oskar for your kitty and for the first Paris apt cat I enjoyed (a Siamese who came with the rental!) I took several photos of Oskar on his first trip to Paris a few weeks ago and will email you one.
I am wishing for you a wonderful 2012! According to French tradition, this is a valid not-too-late wish until Jan 31st... at least that is my story!
Bises,
Genie
